SCHOOLS CONVERGE ON STU GROUNDS FOR NAIA REGION XIV CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

November 6, 2004

MIAMI GARDENS, FL-- For the first time ever, St. Thomas University hosted the NAIA Region XIV cross country meet. Leading the way was Warner Southern University. They swept the men's and women's, conference and regional crowns for a four-way sweep.

 

Individual winners were Bashir Hussain from Warner in a time of 25:52.3. The women were led by Hillary White from Savannah College of Art and Design with a time of 17:57.1.

 

St. Thomas men runners were led by Alden Woolcock with a time of 27:50.7. Although he missed being an All-Florida Sun Conference runner by one place, he did become a National Qualifier.

 

Leading runner for the women was Sam Jacobson with a time of 21:52.0. As a team, St. Thomas Men placed sixth. The STU Women came in seventh.
